"Sunshine Lollipops & Rainbows" it's not!"
We've been out three weeks now. I know some of you are probably wondering how we are doing?
We have seen amazing things. We are accomplishing my bucket list of seeing all 50 states & most Canadian Provinces.
Does this all take a toll? Yes! We are grateful for our bed at night. Sometimes I worry how we will get through the day. We just do! Health wise, we are both better after our back shots. I am much better after my knee & shoulder shots.
I have been contending with a bladder infection for the last 10 days. I got antibiotics from my Dr. but it's not improved a whole lot.
The biggest issue is space. We are living in a 14 ft.trailer. we have to squeeze by each other & things have to be done in a certain order to get ready, to cook & eat.
The funny thing is we don't argue. We get along better than at home. One guy commented "you must really love each other to be in that trailer so long."
Sean fell down & broke his leg & wrist. I told him before we left if he drank & fell we were not coming home. So this time he will not have mom around & will have to deal with it like an adult. My friends have been taking care of Lovey our cat in the interim until Sean gets out of rehab from his surgery.
Do I feel guilty??? YES!! Mostly though because I'm having to depend on the Crookston's & the Burt's to do this. The Crookston's even visited Sean in the hospital & now the Burt's took him some things.
My sons & a couple of friends have told me not to cancel. So I will just have to deal with the guilt!
I appreciate your comments on the blog. Please weigh in on this. I'm sorry I really haven't had the time to reply but I enjoy reading them.
So that's where we are & how we are. We are grateful for this opportunity & the places we've seen make it worth doing hard things.
Saturday, we went to a Mardi Gras Museum in Biloxi. The most interesting thing about the museum was the girl who worked there. She's 3rd generation & has been in Biloxi Mardi Gras as a page & a Maiden. Her costume cost $2000. The King & Queen costumes cost 8000-10,000. Crazy!!
Those costumes are amazing! Glad to hear gas prices are holding out. Keep going! This has been a long time in the making. I'm glad there is support for the needs at home let them serve.
ReplyDeleteYour description on living in a camper is as real as words but we who do it know there is so much effort that must go into it that can't be explained. In glad to hear the effort is paying off.
Hey, just some friendly advice. You are an amazing mom and we did our job raising our kids. What they choose to do beyond that, is out of our hands. Don't allow Sean to determine whether you fill your bucket list or not. We all make choices in life and I respect that you guys choose to continue on and live yours. Be safe and I love you...✌️✌️❤️
ReplyDeleteYou’re both exactly where you need to be - he is a grown man capable of making his own decisions - you’re wonderful parents - what he chooses to do is his decision, right or not, he faces the consequences. On another note, what cool costumes!
