Another Day, Another Mardi Gras Museum

This one was in Mobil, Alabama. This was the first city a Mardi Gras Parade was held.

Incredible costumes & I think the trains probably cost as much as the costumes!!

They had rooms full of displays. Silver goblets, trays, special coins all given from the King to his court. They also had the "throws" which were the things they throw out to the crowd. Lightweight coins or tokens, beads of course & even Moon Pies.

Steve & I in our royal costumes.

They had some displays too!

I have to tell you a story! Saturday & Sunday night we had some raging thunderstorms. Sunday night I was fast asleep with my white noise machine on. Steve's hand hit the wall & that caused the window to slam shut. I thought we were hit by lightning!!! The thump & the bang were so close!! It's funny how your brain works!
