Swamp Things

As we left New Orleans, we went on the Honey Island swamp boat tour. It was so fun to see all the raccoons, the wild hog & another alligator.

The boat driver feeds them all marshmallows & the raccoons come down out of the trees.

The alligator swam out to meet the boat. I didn't know the pics were bad or I would have taken one when he was next to the boat.

The wild hog was very exciting! I have. never been this close to these animals before.

We saw some turtles & some birds also.

This was Steve hangin' on the porch in a rocker waiting for the tour to start.

It was about a two hour trip. The water is very high now & it's been cloudy so there weren't more alligators out yet. We drove to our new campsite at Davis Bayou outside Biloxi Mississippi.

We also stopped by Fort Pike outside New Orleans but it's closed so we couldn't even get a decent shot of it. This is a pic of the cannon.

A shot of a rampart or rear wall of the Fort. The fort faces the water & the only way to see it is on the bridge but you can't stop.

Also, as we left Bayou Segnette yesterday, there was an alligator hanging out. A very nice guy leaned way over the rail to get this shot.

This was a pic of Bayou Segnette CG

This was our campsite

I will be be taking a break for a day while we get caught up with shopping & laundry.
