Niagara Falls & the AG Bell Home
June 3rd Friday
This was the day we were going to see Niagara Falls from the Canadian side. We crossed the Rainbow International Bridge & then went to Falls Park.
I must apologize about the pics. The mist was so heavy, & the sun was so bright I couldn't see how the pics were. Then on top of that my auto wide lens & auto telephoto haven't been working since I last dropped my phone. I can only widen it with my fingers & then shoot.
I had dumped my fresh food before the border crossing, so it was on to Walmart to resupply. We camped at Chippewa Creek Conservation Area.
Saturday June 4th
I woke up & tried to use my phone to call Sean in the hospital. He went back because the pain is so intense. My phone didn't work. My google maps didn't work. I had to navigate us using the little blue dot on the map! It took us two hours, an hour longer than I thought to get out to Brantford. I was so frustrated by the time we finally found a phone store.
The lady hit airplane mode on & off & it was fixed! She said it needed to be reset! I had already called ATT a couple of days before to make sure we wouldn't get hit with roaming charges especially doing my blog & Maps all the way.
We had lunch at Tim Horton's. Lisa knows this, but they are everywhere in Canada. They serve pastries & sandwiches. Very good, AAY
We finally got to Alexander Graham Bell's Home. It just so happened they were celebrating the Queen's Jubilee with High Tea. We missed that but people were dressed up.
We toured his home.
Next we saw his office next door.
He was born in Scotland & went to school in England. His mother was deaf. They immigrated to Canada & then he taught at 3 deaf schools.
He met his future wife who was a deaf student. He opened his own school in Boston & one of his students was Helen Keller. He had worked with the Telegraph, trying to improve it. He wanted multiple messages on the same telegraph wire & also was experimenting with a device that used electricity. He patented the phone in 1876 & started the Bell Company in 1877. He was a co-founder of AT&T.
I am attaching a link which was a very interesting biography. You may have to hit open or paste into your browser. Or just Google it.

We passed by the Upper East portion of Lake Huron. We camped & this is a pic of the little lake in our campground. We got here at twilight because it's like a time warp on this trip. Everything takes longer!!
