Buffalo & More

 Saturday June 11th This will be my last blog, so here goes!! On our way to Fort Abraham Lincoln in North Dakota, near Bismarck, we stopped at Jamestown to see the World's Largest Buffalo. Jamestown has this Buffalo Museum & a cute western town you can spend the day at. We didn't have that kind of time since we are hurrying home. Fort Abraham Lincoln. We arrived with a 1 hour till closing, so we quickly walked through. Infantry post. Many things were rebuilt because the settlers used all the wood from the old Fort. A beautiful view. They have a campground there too! The Cavalry post & barracks General Custer served there, & this was a home of his. This was called "On a Slant" Indian Village. The Mandan people lived in those big dirt mound homes. Sunday, June 12th. This became a great day! First we went to church in Bismarck, where they also have a temple. Lighthouses & Falls, Duluth to Wisconsin

 Thursday, June 9th We drove in to Duluth to go to the Lake Superior Maritime Museum. I got a bonus on lighthouses. 3 of them right there. This one is my favorite, Superior Entry Lighthouse. This one is North Breakwater Lighthouse. This one is South Breakwater. We watched the bridge lift up for a big tour boat. What a cute little tugboat boat! Lake Superior The Museum Exhibits. A sample of a few ship cabins There are 2 narrow canals in the harbor. Inside, one of the displays was the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Do you remember the Gordon Lightfoot song of the same name? The song was done in 1976. There was another of many crashes of ships & this one was on a clear day. After lunch we headed for Wisconsin. My original plan was to go to Wisconsin Dells & ride a duck boat. We were also going to go to see where my Dad's side of the family, the Clark's  ended up after Connecticut & Massachusetts. I would have loved to see where they lived. Since we have to get home, ...
