Lee's Ferry & Flagstaff

We were about 3 hours late leaving home. We had to get the trailer & load the trailer the same day due to parking restrictions

We got my mom settled into the Beehive Home the day before. What a blessed break this is going to be!

We had a nice campsite. We had a glitch with the battery so lights were dim & the refrigerator wouldn't work. Steve started propane. The lights also got better but those batteries sat for a long time at home!

Lee's Ferry Navajo bridge connected the two ends of Arizona across the Colorado River in 1929.

Before that, from  1871 Mormon settlers, used the ferry on what was known as the Honeymoon Trail, between the newer Northern Arizona settlements to get married at the St. George Temple & return to Arizona

We had a campsite near the Colorado River

The other pics are on the way & of the old & new bridge.

Sorry two of these. Can't get it

We got into Flagstaff &  Ate at The Dog Haus on Route 66. We went  to Walmart because evidently the 5 orders at home I did plus Amazon wasn't enough!!

We drove  down to Ashurst Lake to camp. Found it closed even though the NPS website said they were open a month ago. Back to Flagstaff (about 30 miles away) KOA said because there was a rainstorm coming they closed Ashurst. Very expensive to camp but it was going to rain & we liked the electric, water & sewer & at that point we were done.

Our little trailer is extremely small so Steve & I dance around each other. You have to be organized!! As most of you know, I have planned this trip for well over a year & revised my itinerary 4 times. But we know which gas stations, restaurants, stores, laundromat, & campgrounds we are going to. We know what scenic things we are going to see & where to picnic & walk.

I hope by tomorrow night to have pics of the Gallup Murals, Route 66 attractions & two Museums.

We already did Route 66 once before all through Arizona so we aren't stopping at those sites. I tried to find my pics but I have had 2 phones since then. It's been several years. I am attaching a link to a write up on Arizona 66.
